Do You Really Want Generic Email Lists?
Generic email lists are some of the easiest lists for email marketing that you can find. These are created by companies or by entrepreneurs that want to make fast money. They surf the web looking for random email addresses, save and store them, and create email lists out of them. They can find hundreds of these email addresses per day and they don’t ask permission to use these email addresses which goes against ethical email marketing standards.
The emails are then compiled into lists that they sell for reasonable prices in numbers that you choose. Sometimes the lists have 250, 500 or even 1000 or more email addresses on them. Often, the more you buy, the cheaper price per email address. They can make a good income doing this because they don’t take the time to create good quality lists, they simply collect anyone’s email that is available.
While buying a list of 1000 email addresses might seem great for a business especially when the price is right, they are generic lists that aren’t benefiting you because they aren’t geared towards a target market. Any business has a target market and to reap the most benefit from your campaign, you need the email list to contain addresses from that target market.
